Please read this Licensing Disclosure carefully. The use of the Patient Watch platform constitutes your acceptance of the terms set out herein. If you do not agree with this Disclosure, please do not use our services.

Patient Watch Medical Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”, “Patient Watch”) provides users with resources including websites, tools, clinical questionnaires, and scoring calculators. “You” or “user” refers to any person accessing and/or using any of our services.

Important Notice: We Do Not Charge for Questionnaire Content

Patient Watch does not charge users for access to, or use of, any clinical questionnaire or outcome measure. All instruments available on our platform are provided free of charge to users.

Our subscription fees cover only the following platform services:

  • Secure data storage and encryption
  • Automated SMS, email, and push notification reminders
  • Technical support

We do not sell or commercially distribute questionnaire content. This operational model is designed to ensure our use of validated instruments falls within non-commercial and academic use provisions as defined by most instrument copyright holders.

User Responsibility: Unless otherwise specified by Patient Watch, it is the sole responsibility of the user to verify and ensure compliance with any copyright, licensing, or usage restrictions associated with the clinical instruments they use through our platform. Patient Watch does not provide legal advice regarding instrument licensing.

1. Educational Purpose & Disclaimer

This platform is intended as an educational tool for medical researchers and health care professionals. Medical researchers and health care professionals should exercise their judgement regarding the information and the weight that can be placed on that information that this platform’s content can provide.

Non-medical professionals use this platform at their own risk. The content on this platform does not constitute medical advice. Non-medical professionals should contact a physician or other licensed health care professional for medical advice including but not limited to questions, concerns and/or decision making.

This platform provides information only and the use of this information is strictly at your own risk. We do not provide medical advice nor do we provide medical or diagnostic services. 3.1. Platform Ownership

Platform design, code, branding, and architecture are the copyright of Patient Watch Medical Ltd (Company No: 14114586) and may not be copied without written permission.

3.2. Instrument Ownership

Clinical questionnaires and scoring tools (“Instruments”) are owned by their respective authors, academic institutions, licensors, or estate holders. References to source material are provided when available, and the intellectual property of each Instrument remains that of its creator.

3.3. Fair Use & Transformative Use

Our modification and transformation of these Instruments into dynamic, interactive, online-scoring calculators, we believe constitutes fair use for non-commercial educational and clinical purposes. If you feel we have violated your copyright, please contact us via email at info@patient-watch.com and we will address the matter promptly.

3.4. No Commercial Use of Instrument Content

No commercial use of Instrument content is permitted without the approval of the original authors. Patient Watch does not grant any license to commercially exploit questionnaire content.

4. Licensed Instruments

For certain Instruments, Patient Watch Medical Ltd has obtained academic or non-commercial licenses directly from the copyright holders. Where this is the case:

  • License Status: The specific form page will indicate that Patient Watch holds an academic/non-commercial license for that Instrument.
  • No Charge for Content: Even for licensed Instruments, we do not charge users for access to the questionnaire content itself. Our subscription fees remain exclusively for platform services (data storage, reminders, support).
  • License Scope: Our licenses typically cover non-commercial, academic, and routine clinical use. Users intending to use licensed Instruments for commercial purposes (e.g., pharmaceutical-sponsored trials, commercial research) may still need to obtain their own license from the copyright holder.
  • User Responsibility: Unless Patient Watch explicitly states that a license covers your specific use case, it remains your responsibility to verify compliance with the Instrument’s licensing terms.

5. User Responsibility & Indemnity

Unless otherwise specified by Patient Watch in writing, it is the sole responsibility of the user to check and ensure compliance with any copyright, licensing, or intellectual property restrictions associated with the clinical instruments they access through our platform.

If you are a healthcare professional, NHS Trust, healthcare provider, or researcher (“Professional User”):

  • Licensing Compliance: You acknowledge that certain Instruments are protected by international copyright. While Patient Watch does not charge for questionnaire content, your specific use context (e.g., pharmaceutical-sponsored research, commercial clinical trials) may require a separate license from the copyright holder. It is your responsibility to verify this.
  • Obligation to Verify: It is the Professional User’s sole responsibility to ensure they possess the legal right to use a specific Instrument for their intended purpose. Patient Watch does not verify or warrant that any instrument is free from copyright restrictions for your particular use case.
  • Indemnity: By using the Service, the Professional User agrees to indemnify Patient Watch Medical Ltd against any claims, costs, or legal actions arising from the unauthorized use of a copyrighted Instrument within the user’s specific clinical or research context.
  • No Legal Advice: Patient Watch does not provide legal advice regarding instrument licensing or copyright. Users requiring guidance should consult the original instrument developers, licensing bodies, or legal counsel.

6. Non-Commercial Use Model

Patient Watch Medical Ltd operates under a non-commercial use model with respect to clinical instruments:

  • No Questionnaire Fees: We do not charge any fee for the questionnaire content itself. Users access all instruments free of charge.
  • Service-Only Charges: Our subscription fees relate exclusively to platform services: data storage, reminders, and support.
  • Academic/Non-Commercial Classification: By not monetising questionnaire content, our use of validated instruments is intended to fall within the “non-commercial” or “academic” use provisions typically offered by instrument copyright holders.

8.1. Certification Status

Patient Watch Medical Ltd provides digital implementations of Instruments for convenience and utility. Not all electronic versions have been formally certified, validated, or endorsed by instrument copyright holders or licensing bodies. 8.2. Academic Classification

Mapi Research Trust (MRT), a major licensing body for clinical outcome assessments, has reviewed Patient Watch’s operational model and deemed our usage as academic/non-commercial. This classification reflects our commitment to not charging for questionnaire content and providing instruments free of charge to users.

8.3. Professional User Responsibility

If your clinical, research, or commercial use requires formally validated eCOA implementations, you should:

  • Contact us to confirm the licensing status of specific Instruments
  • Contact the original instrument developers or licensing bodies directly if required
  • Independently determine whether Patient Watch is appropriate for your use case

9. Prohibited Activities

It is prohibited to:

  • Use automated scripts, robots, scrapers, or other algorithms to extract information from this platform
  • Deep link or frame this platform from other sites without permission
  • Access this platform in such a way that disrupts or degrades services
  • Extract the private information of the creators or users of this platform

We retain the right to pursue all violations of these conditions to the fullest extent of the law.
